Donzi - Miami, FL
Donzi has been known for their racing prowess and speed demon pedigree dating back to the earliest days of the company. Founded by Don Aronow in 1964, the company's first model was one of the original Retro Runabout designs. The Ski Sporter was a 16' rocket that would later be renamed the Sweet 16 and the Classic in later years. The original concept hull was designed by Jim Wynne in Miami. Following up the success of the 16' model, Donzi also introduce 18' and 22' models and a variety of other boats that resembled the company's offshore racing heritage.
Today the Donzi brand is held by its 8th owner and recent announcements of their re-boot can be found in industry publications. While the economics of the boating industry have not always been kind to Donzi, the designs have remained timeless and classic. Even through the image conscious 1980's and the fishing boat models in the 1990's Donzi has always done it with style.
