Jolly Roger Boats - Spokane, WA

Based on our findings, Jolly Roger appears to be the oldest of the Spokane companies. The company was founded by Chuck Walters when he purchased a boat manufacturer out of California in the mid-1960s. After moving the operations to Spokane, he redesigned the hull to create Jolly Roger. The boats came with Berkley Jets, Mercruiser inboard/outboards, and Mercury outboards.
According to an article in the Spokane Daily Chronicle dated July 3, 1970, Chuck sold the company to Pacific American Marine Corporation. We also found a registration plaques on 1972 and 1973 boats that show Pioneer Engineering as the manufacturer of the Jolly Roger.
After the company folded in what appears to be the mid-1970s, the molds were allegedly picked up by Chuck's friend, Roy Johnson, to start American Boat Company.
It is rumored that the Jolly Roger DGB stood for "Damn Good Boat".
